I love to see lizards. Or really any bit of nature I don't normally get to see. I saw a skink at the recycle center last week and I hadn't seen one around here in 15 years. Doesn't take much to get me excited.

What kind is it? We have lots but I've never seen one here that looks like that.

At this time of year my yard looks like a miniature Jurassic Park. Adults and babies everywhere. Which explains why the black racer (snake) can be found out and about in my yard most days.

Great picture. I can't get too attached to lizards, though, because my huntress kitty loves them so much...

Great Basin Collared Lizard

Remember all those shows that came out: "Nature gone Wild". Killer whales catching seals? I have lizard habitat by my patio and I also had a scrub jay that would eat peanuts out of my hand. So I'm sitting on the patio and this little lizard is doing his push up territorial thing and the scrub jay sees me and flys over and lands on the wall. I think: "Wow, nature!" So the jay spots that little lizard and does a killer whale number on it in the blink of an eye. nabs it, whacks it on the wall and then down the hatch. So, it's a tough life for little lizards.
